Aki Goto: "I've been a multimedia artist after I graduated from art college. I used to mainly paint and draw and make music. I've worked on some conceptual performances and many fashion projects. Now I'm making daily short films on top of hantens. And I'm a mother for 24 hours.
This might sound like a super person but I have thousands of things I'm not good at, can't do and don't like, even in the art field. And I don't try to work hard on them, simply accept it and don't talk about it in my bio ????
Confession: I'm not good at drawing. I'm not good at any three dimensional stuff like making sculptures. I still have difficulties w speaking/understanding English. I'm not good at taking care of house plants. I actually don't really love gardening while I talk about herbalism and permaculture. I don't like chickens, I mean birds in general. I can't stand mosquitos and moths. I sometimes don't feel comfortable in the nature, like during camping in the woods. I have 3 thousands more, including stuff I can't even say here bcs I feel embarrassed????
And you might've realized, I am not good at sewing clothes as they're three dimensional. But I'm loving making hantens.
Because : 1, I wanted to make hanten so I did before thinking about if I could. ✨I listened to my desire part, not my fear part then. ✨
2, When I started, I was scared to hate it soon as I wasn't good at making clothes usually, but then realized most of Japanese garments were not quite 3D, almost like origami which I love and am good at. So I told myself that making hanten is 2.5D and I'd be SO good at it. ✨I decided to trust myself. ✨
I have more things I can't do than things I can. So I'm not a super person, it's just I don't do those(and someone else does while I don't do- like Ken????????) Instead, I do what I love to do and I work on them so hard like crazy because I have energy to put in that I don't use for thousands of things.
So the reason I make hanten is I love making it. And I'm selfish (aka loving).
So yeah, in a way I am a super person..????❤️????"
